Azur Cosmetics is a luxury makeup brand from the exoctic Kingdom of Morocco. It specialises in holographic makeup. It is inspired by the Glaucus atlanticus, commonly known as the blue dragon. Glaucus atlanticus is a small sea slug mostly known for its camofalging capabilities, tiny size and venemous nematocyte. It is blue and silver in colour which almost creates a holographic look for it. It doesn’t have any bones, infact it stores an air bubble inside its stomach and floats along the sea surface, belly side up, and just goes where the current takes it. The idea of holographic makeup came up drawing inspiration from the irrdescent/galactic effect on the glaucus atlanticus’s surface. The color azur ultimately takes its name from the intense blue Persian mineral lapis lazuli. Azur is a hue halfway between blue and cyan, a blue very similar to that of the Glaucus atlanticus. Many a times the Mediterraneanian sea on the coast of France and Morocco is reffered to as azur due to it’s blue colour. Drawing inspiration from the above we decided to name the brand Azur.
